Welcome to the North Carolina Big Sweep home page!

We're the award-winning 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit organization whose mission is litter-free watersheds. We conduct year-round education to prevent litter and coordinate The 2008 North Carolina Big Sweep, the North Carolina component of the International Coastal Cleanup--an event in which volunteers from all 100 counties in the State and approximately 90 countries worldwide come together to clean up our watersheds. Although many counties have completed their fall cleanups, go to the County Coordinators page to find out how to contact your County Coordinator and find out about additional cleanups. Thank you!

Check out the topics below to see how you can help and to find out more details about our cleanup and educational efforts. Thank you for your interest in our environment!
